Redwood High School

Expanding to meet the need

The two-story academic building opened in time for the 2015-2016 school year. The 16-classroom building was funded in part by Measure E and in part through State of California modernization funds. The building was designed by Visalia architects Teter AE and built by Visalia general contractor Seals/Biehle. The student population had outgrown the campus and existing portables were aging. The new building blends with the existing design and relieves overcrowding.

Measure E also funded an upgrade to the campus fire alarm system.

The design work on science lab, gymnasium and quad improvements at Redwood is under review at the State of California now, to keep VUSD in line for funding when it becomes available. This funding will be available if Prop. 55 on the November ballot passes.

Aerial view of solar panels

The solar panels on campus are now complete. This is one of 12 schools in VUSD to receive solar panels, which are expected to save the District an estimated $1.7 million in energy costs. These funds will then be available to support the schools’ other facilities needs.
