Measure E helping to secure additional funding
Thanks to Measure E, VUSD had the funds to do the advance design work necessary to get projects in
line for new state funds.
Modernization at numerous campuses and science lab improvements and quad improvements at Redwood High School are already designed and under review at the State, thanks to Measure E.
Measure E tax to end early
Property owners in Visalia Unified School District will see the Measure E tax end three years early – and enjoy a 23 percent lower-than-expected rate. The second and final series of bonds was recently sold in a competitive process.Measure E was estimated to be $30 per $100,000 valuation. Instead, the lower interest rate will result in a rate of $22.63 per $100,000 valuation.
Measure E funds were not used to fund salaries or benefits. All funds were used for facilities and were monitored by an Independent Citizen’s Oversight Committee. For more information, call Robert Groeber, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, at 559-730-7529 or email at [email protected].
Celebrating Ranger Hall
The VUSD Board of Trustees and staff, along with the design and construction team, prepare to cut the ceremonial ribbon at Ranger Hall in 2015. The new academic building was made possible by Measure E.
Stretching the money
Visalia Unified School District will see $63.35 million in additional funding from Measure E, thanks to the competitive process of the first bond sale and lower interest rates. In addition, taxpayers will save nearly $31 million in interest because the term of the second bond sale is 25 years, rather than 30 years. more>
